So does my deep gratitude to all of the finalists and winners for making such great albums in an excellent year for all the types of modern music I love. To you good folks who’ve been following my hit parades, I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing some of your picks included in my lists, and I hope you also found something new to explore.

Reggie’s Top 15 Albums of the Year + Honorable Mentions

Well, here we are again, another end of year list.  First, big thanks to you for reading and engaging with us.  I have to say, this year’s list is more well-rounded than previous year-end lists.  I guess it is because I continue to get exposed to new bands and others that have been out a while, but are new to me.  Take my #1 for example.  I knew they were out there, but took it took me a while to sit down and have a serious listen.  I am glad I did.  One major difference between this year and my other lists is the (almost) absence of thrash metal bands.  While there are a few, not as much as I would normally have on my list.  Seems as though my taste in progressive based metal is expanding.  I guess it’s time to see for yourself.  Enjoy, and let’s have another great year in metal.

Video of the Week: The Grip Tightens by Revocation

By far my favorite newer metal band at the moment Revocation play a style of thrash metal that is impossible to ignore.  While having a good amount of seriousness in their sound, they do not shy away for a second from having some good ol’ fun with their music, and now in their videos.  The video for “The Grip Tightens” is by far the best performance footage video ever released.  Props to the makeup artist for his work in making the guys in Revocation into old men.  My eyes are still tearing and sides are still ripping from laughing so hard.  Comedy gold.  Check out the video and don’t forget you can get the E.P., Tetrogenesis, that this song is from for FREE (Click Here), so don’t forget to do that.  It’s really damn great.  Enjoy!  Peace Love and Metal!!!
