Dark, Uncomfortable, and Fascinating

For this week’s full album stream Century Media were kind enough to post an official stream of Vildhjarta‘s debut album Måsstaden.  This is quite an album.  It’s very dark and nightmarish.  There are moments when it will make you feel uncomfortable and dirty.  But above all, it’s quite fascinating.  Check it out and let us know what you thought.  Enjoy!! Peace Love and Metal!!!!

I Think I Peed Myself….

While on my search for some info for an upcoming post on this whole ‘djent’ thing I came across a band called Vildhjarta and thought that what they were doing was pretty cool. They have an E.P. called Omnislash(bonus points for being Final Fantasy nerds) and I gave it a listen as well as some of their other material through Youtube and enjoyed it. It seemed as a natural progression from the style Meshuggah style but had more melody to it and it also had a great atmosphere on many of the songs.

Anyways they have a debut album coming out this month and they have released a video for the song “Benblåst”. This may not be for everyone but I find myself strangely attracted to it. It lacks any melody and is a very jarring, percussive affair, but damn, the choking atmosphere they create. The video is also one of the creepiest things I’ve seen since Eraserhead, check it out. Peace Love and Metal!!!
