Atmospheric Videos: Caligula’s Horse – Into The White (live, supporting Opeth)

The C-Horse team certainly know how to make spectacular live videos! Similar to the last one, this video for the beautiful tune “Into The White” is filmed with fantastic images and audio, really emphasizing the greatest moments in the song. It’s recorded at the Brisbane concert at Eaton Hills Hotel, where Caligula’s Horse had the well deserved honour to be the opening act for Opeth. Who needs Opeth when you can listen to these guys? *wink*

Storytelling Videos: Crimson Dawn – Crimson Dawn

“The sun is rising now
And the mist is low on the ground
Scarlet is the morning tide
While we yearn for our time

Here on the hills on fate
With bows and swords in hand
We stand and we await
The armies of the dead

Crimson Dawn will arise
Blood will stain our skies

The air is wet and cold
It burns my tormented soul
This frightful moment never flies
In time it’s crystallized

Storytelling Videos: Crib45 – Into The Abyss

The Finnish post-metal band Crib45 have accurately captured what’s going on in many countries around the world (and on the internet) in their new video; the increasing fear of certain foreign cultures mixing with their own, the hateful attitude towards human beings that have been forced against their will to escape from a land of war and despair, or human beings that have done nothing wrong but to break old fashioned societal norms. I fully understand and share the frustration, my heart cries together with every individual who have been treated unjustly and inhumanly. Blood was shed instead of tears…

Hilarious Videos: Red Fang – Crows In Swine

Wasted angel
Broken halo
Wings of emerald
Empty bottles

Lost for time
Soaked in brine
Nickeled and dimed
Crows and swine

Burned out all doubt
Take back your skin
You’ve been broken
No light to fail

Lost for time
Soaked in brine
Nickeled and dimed
Crows in swine

Video Of The Week: BEAR – Mantiis

Obey the fucking BEAR! Or blood will be shed…

New bloody and disgusting video for the song “Mantiis” taken from their excellent 2013 album “Noumenon”.

Video of the Week: Tool – Ænema

I was trying to look for something new that I thought would be cool, but other than having the same problem as Matt – finding videos of bands in forests or empty warehouses, I thought I would revisit some old Tool videos because they are pretty damn cool.  And, sometimes one doesn’t have to actually understand what is going on in the video for it to be cool.  Nor, does one actually have to see the band in it for it to be cool.   Sometimes you just have to look at it and go, What the fuck?  That’s what I think of this video.  Not to mention, Tool has been talking about an album that might be released in the next decade or so.  So, why not revisit?  Oh, this one is uncut so if you don’t like swear words…this is your disclaimer.

Video of the Week: Carnifex – Hatred and Slaughter

Many of you will find this video to be beneficial to your mental health. Yes, you are the masses who are feeling lost, empty and alone because it’s the weekend. We know how much you miss the office. Never mind, you only have to endure two days before you can get back to those invoice books, filing cabinets and rush-hour traffic.

Let Carnifex improve your state of mind by infusing you with grimness and brutality. Their deathcore can rip out any sensitivity in your soul if you have one or believe you have one.

This is a live performance of a track from their most recent album, “Die Without Hope”. I’m afraid deathcore has the opposite effect on me. It makes me smile, dance and chase happy bubbles.

Video of the Week: Glass Delirium – Separate Ways

Let’s have something light, bubbly and amusing to celebrate the arrival of another weekend. Here’s what the drummer, Pat, says about this video, a cover a of a Journey song: “You know a lot of bands cover this song, and they do a great job. It really is a great song. When the idea came up to have us do a shot for shot remake of the video, we lost it! When it came time to shoot the video, none of us could keep a straight face, with the mullet wigs, and horribly awesome wardrobe. Goodwill rocks, by the way! Once we played the video next to the original music video, by Journey, we knew that we had something totally hilarious, and cool.”

In addition to Pat, Glass Delirium is Michelle on vocals, Scott on guitars, Aeon on bass, and David on keys. The band’s home town is Denver, Colorado, and you can meet them on Facebook:

Video Of The Week: Enabler – Close My Eyes

“There’s gotta be some way out of here!”
This is the new video from melodic hardcore band Enabler, who released their outstanding sophomore album La Fin Absolute du Monde in May this year. Punky, crunchy and speedy!

Check out more of their songs here (and look at that wonderful artwork!):

Video(s) Of The Week: Aeon Zen and Meta-Stasis

Because I’m incapable of making a decision of which video to post today, I’ll give you two, videos, two songs of different styles of metal. The bands have one thing in common though, they both played the lovely UK Tech Fest a couple of weeks ago. Aeon Zen brings us some proggy-power goodness and a fantastically cute and creative video. I love their little faces put on South Park-like bodies, it’s so well made and the facial expressions are hilarious!

Meta-stasis on the other hand will blast your ears off with their extreme-psycho-tech-death-industrial-jungle metal and a very tasty, animated video. I am impatiently waiting to hear their new album that comes out soon!
