There is nothing like the sweet sound of thrash. England’s Evile is carrying on the torch of many old school thrash bands like Exodus, Testament, and Death Angel (talking about from the late 80’s). To sum up Evile in one word I would say “shred” because that is what they do. I missed them when they were supposed to open for Amon Amarth and Entombed in 2009 because the bass player passed away. I was fortunate to catch them last year at Sonisphere on one of the smaller stages. The stage might have been smaller, but it was packed so much that the band actually seemed both surprised and flattered. Evile is making a name for themselves in and around the U.K. So they will have the nod for the song of the week for Thrasher off their debut album Enter The Grave. The song is also accompanied by a video…almost a million hits so far. They must be doing something right. See for yourselves and have a great week.
This week’s album of the week is from a great “New Wave of Thrash” band that I discovered in the UK. I was able to catch them at Sonisphere, and they were great.
The album of the week for 26 February 2011 is Enter the Grave by Evile.
This album was their first major release in 2007. They have released two albums to date, with a third scheduled for release sometime this year, and I can’t wait.
These guys have a great sound, and this album is shred from beginning to end. It has been a while since a newer thrash metal band and made it this big, which is great.
If you are a fan of thrash metal, this is definitely an album I would recommend. You won’t be disappointed.
Have a great weekend.
