Mammal’s Best of 2014: Day 2

Titlepic

Angela Gossow told me – I think it was Angela Gossow – she told me I should repeat the following part of my intro in every post in my Countdown. She says not everyone reads every post. I hope it was Angela Gossow.

I had a hell of a job cutting my lists down to my Top 30 Metal, Top 40 Prog and Top 20 Jazz albums. If I seem to have missed some really good stuff, please feel welcome to tell me. Please don’t berate me. Your top album may be lower down on my list, or maybe I simply haven’t heard it. Hundreds of albums are released every month in the online universe of music.

Actor of 2014

Kevin+Spacey

Kevin Spacey, main asshole in “House of Cards”. His performance was riveting. All of his performances are. In “House of Cards” he brilliantly projected the egotistical, greedy, power-hungry, conniving, treacherous, dishonest, self-aggrandising character of every politician who has ever existed.

About ChristopherMammal

I've made it to Mammal. I still hope to be classified as Human one day. Meanwhile I have evolved enough to recognise different types of music as well as the shrieks of certain vervet monkeys who are known for their scurrilous behaviour in the proximity of unguarded bananas.

  1. House of Cards is a bad-ass show and one of the main reasons I still hold on to Netflix. I can’t wait for Season 3. That Deep in Hate was a really good album…you are making me second guess my list now. Might have to expand to 20 albums…not sure.

  2. ChristopherMammal

I’ll have to do a special honour roll at the end of January for great albums I might have missed so far and killer albums that could emerge before the end of the year.
