Mammal’s 21-Year Hit Parade: 1993 / #10 and #9

The-Big-BangThe decade of the 1990s was the period when metal started making its full impact on my life. Up until then I’d been listening to plenty of prog rock, classic rock, classical music and some hard rock and heavy metal. For me, the ’90s exploded with new metal sounds that didn’t just change my world, they altered the very fabric of existence.

This will be my personal tribute to metal from the last 21 years, 1993-2013. It will list my top ten songs from each of those years. Since any music is so subjective, I won’t try to explain why any particular song grabbed me. I’ll list the band, song, album, country and genre (I enjoy making catalogues!).

1993, #10: Monster Magnet – Cage Around The Sun

Album: Superjudge
Country: USA
Genre: Stoner Metal

1993, #9: W.A.S.P. – The Gypsy Meets The Boy

Album: The Crimson Idol
Country: USA
Genre: Heavy Metal

About ChristopherMammal

I've made it to Mammal. I still hope to be classified as Human one day. Meanwhile I have evolved enough to recognise different types of music as well as the shrieks of certain vervet monkeys who are known for their scurrilous behaviour in the proximity of unguarded bananas.
