WarpRider – The vocal style on “Don’t Do It” nearly caused me to just stop listening; just too extreme and sick even for me. However, the rest of the album has an aggressive hardcore groove I find appropriate for random chair throwing. Though the album is mostly extreme on all fronts, there is some diversity in a few of their songs where more of a crossover thrashy cadence briefly takes over. Mostly, though, it’s a straightforward hardcore album firing on all cylinders. 2.0

Irmelinis – This was a quite nice piece of primitive, rabid, trippy music that I would have enjoyed much, much more if they got rid of the old school “we’re playing in an old garage” sound. I guess that’s how it’s supposed to sound in this style. Anyway, these are cool songs with a tasty grindcore-ish touch. 2.5

ChristopherMammal – There is clearly some talent here. If the band would channel that talent into more interesting compositions and stop making their recordings on a smartphone, I might want to listen to their next album. I can’t see this EP wooing many fans of crust bands like Alpinist or Fall Of Efrafa. 2.0

A Metal State of Mind Score – 2.3 out of 5

About ChristopherMammal

I've made it to Mammal. I still hope to be classified as Human one day. Meanwhile I have evolved enough to recognise different types of music as well as the shrieks of certain vervet monkeys who are known for their scurrilous behaviour in the proximity of unguarded bananas.
