WarpRider – I couldn’t really find anything wrong with the album, but at the same time I couldn’t find anything right with it either. I like individual instrumentation, but put together as a package deal nothing really stood out except for a few songs. 2.5

Irmelinis – Solid melo-death sounding just like it’s supposed to. A constant stream of catchy riffs and pounding drums together with dark, harsh vocals and barely any changes of pace. As a whole it gets boring quickly and needs a lot more variation to make me want to come back to it. 2.0

ChristopherMammal – I can consume melodic death in large quantities, and this small portion goes down very well. After this promising debut I’d like to hear more from Storm Cry. The track selection and songs, including some inventive preludes and lead-ins, are varied enough to give this EP plenty of flavor. The composer deserves a pat on the back for some really good melody lines emphasized by cool solos and drum work as well as the strong vocals. This band does all the right things and does them well. 3.8

A Metal State of Mind Score – 2.8 out of 5

About ChristopherMammal

I've made it to Mammal. I still hope to be classified as Human one day. Meanwhile I have evolved enough to recognise different types of music as well as the shrieks of certain vervet monkeys who are known for their scurrilous behaviour in the proximity of unguarded bananas.
