WarpRider – This actually reminds me a little bit of Sacred Reich. I like the old school thrash with a touch of hardcore blend. A little extra in the production department could do a lot for the overall sound quality. Not a bad EP, though; I am curious to hear more when a full-length album comes out. 3.0

Irmelinis – This is thrash with a surprisingly bombastic, powerful sound and some nice hooks and twists. It has lots of potential, but for a non-thrash-head like me, even after only two songs, it just starts to sound the same. 2.0

ChristopherMammal – Have a small dose of fun. The demo consists of only four songs totaling 19 minutes, but the band packs in plenty of enjoyment. Never mind the theme or lyrics, the music is happy thrash. It’s old-style, Slayer-type metal. Yes, there are plenty of bands who sound similar, but that’s the nature of the genre. The vocalist, who goes by the name of Rnuld, has a rough, tough, Lemmy sort of voice. He’d be good at stoner metal as well as thrash. 3.2

A Metal State of Mind Score – 2.7 out of 5

In the absence of a track from the demo, here’s Shredhammer on stage some months ago. The video sound quality doesn’t do justice to the band.

About ChristopherMammal

I've made it to Mammal. I still hope to be classified as Human one day. Meanwhile I have evolved enough to recognise different types of music as well as the shrieks of certain vervet monkeys who are known for their scurrilous behaviour in the proximity of unguarded bananas.
