WarpRider – Interesting to see what the silent partners of the Big Four (Frank Bello and Dave Ellefson) can come up with put in the studio. Throw in Jeff Freidl of A Perfect Circle and that has to entice some curiosity, right?  I am a bit surprised it’s not all that heavy, but then again thankful as well; reminds me of Foo Fighters…which I like.  I like their rhythm and groove and who would have thought Frank Bello could sing.  Excellent!  4.5

Irmelinis – Really nice! It’s catchy as hell and contains a great amount of positive energy. As expected, these guys know what they’re doing. The vocals and the variety in the songs are particularly enjoyable. Coming from two bassists, shouldn’t there have been bass solos to infinity and beyond in these songs…? You can never get enough bass. 3.5

ChristopherMammal – Buy it. Now. Go! This collaboration between two of the most famous thrash bass players, David Ellefson of Megadeth and Frank Bello of Anthrax, is absolutely, 100 percent a giant step in the light direction. They’ve gone from heavy to light by turning to hard rock. It’s as musical and satisfying as any hard rock I’ve heard in years. But damn, only three songs on this release… so buy it and show them they have to do a full album quickly. 5.0

A Metal State of Mind Score – 4.3 out of 5

It takes a while for this video to start, but it’s cool to see who is playing on stage together.
