WarpRider – The vocals are haunting, they give the songs a dark and ominous feel.  The heavy sludgy rock style goes well and everything seems to fit together for a nice sample of songs that makes me want to hear more.  3.5

Atleastimhousebroken- My thoughts on Solstice’s new E.P. can be most easily summed up in the following song:  4.0

Irmelinis – This is my first encounter with this band. Even though I’m not of the male gender I still really, really enjoy Solstice’s Manly Music. And yes, the main reason for that might be that their vocalist is out-of-this-world-good. So it’s unfortunate that two out of four tracks are instrumental… But seriously, I can’t really find anything bad to say about this EP. Great lead guitar melodies, high quality songs and an overwhelming feeling of power and sincerity. Don’t change vocalist ever again, this one is a keeper! Goddamn epic and powerful music. 4.0

ChristopherMammal – I played it once and thought… hmm. Again, and it sounded better. By the third playing I decided this is pretty darn good stuff. Solstice draws from classic heavy metal but also from farther back than that. This EP is reminiscent of classic rock. It’s the type of music you wouldn’t be surprised to hear on a vinyl album by Uriah Heep, Free or Golden Earring. I’ll be looking out for more from these guys. 4.0

A Metal State of Mind Score – 3.8 out of 5
