WarpRider – A classic heavy metal vibe in the vein of Priest, Maiden and even very early Motley Crüe.  A high-octane boost of pure metal as it was intended; riffs, rhythm, and fists in the air fun. 3.5

Atleastimhousebroken – My dad’s new album is kick ass.  His favorite bands are Man-o-war and Judas Priest.  I’m too embarrassed to go to his shows but fans of dad metal seem to love his band.  He got me a wheel of cheddar cheese for Christmas last year.  2

Irmelinis – Switchblade are resurrecting traditional 80’s heavy metal with this excellent, solid release full of catchy choruses and relentless riffs. This style of metal certainly needs some good, new bands like Switchblade to take over the crown in a genre where too many fans are stuck in the past still only listening to and worshipping albums released over thirty years ago. Go Switchblade! Metal and Steel! –3.5

ChristopherMammal – This is full-on, classic style heavy metal. That means it’s going to please a lot of metal people. I’m one of them. The band makes no bones about wanting to recapture the style and delivery of 1980s NWOBHM. This album could proudly stand alongside your rack of Maiden CDs. Switchblade boast that their vocalist, Lior “Steinmetal” Stein, is emulating the great Bruce Dickenson, and he does it damned well. Put this on and friends may ask: “Hey, which Maiden is that?”  4.2

A Metal State of Mind Score – 3.3 out of 5
