Album Review: Jungle Rot – Terror Regime

VR678-CDDoes it piss you off when you discover you like a band only to find out they have been in action for almost 20 years?  It makes me feel like I have been living under a rock or something.  A few weeks ago, I was sent a promo of the re-issue of Jungle Rot’s first album, Skin the Living, and thought it was mighty cool.  So, I reviewed it like a good blogger and now Terror Regime is their latest and greatest 8th album.  I have so much to listen to.  I guess it’s better late than never.  This classic American Death metal band can shred.  Here are my thoughts on the new album starting with my personal sensibility.

Smells like:  Obituary, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse

Feels like:  Getting gutted while still alive.

Taste Like:  Puss from a rotting limb.

Looks like:  Death and destruction.

Sounds like:  Fucking death metal.

Death metal comes in many forms, but this is the American way.  Though the album is short, Terror Regime will work those neck muscles as you whip your hair (if you have some) around in a frenzied rage.  I like this album a lot even though it doesn’t meet my standard recommendation for length.

Release date:  19 March 2013

Record Label:  Victory Records

Nationality:  United States
