Video of the Week – Ideate (stop spamming this post)

The other day I got my copy of Soen‘s debut album Cognitive in the mail, and what can I say, it’s awesome.  In case you don’t know, Soen features Martin Lopez, the ex-drummer of Opeth and Amon Amarth, and Steve DiGiorgio, amazing bassist for hire and previously of Testament.  After I have absorbed it some more I’ll post a full-fledged review, but I can tell you now that it is well worth picking up, especially if you enjoy Tool/A Perfect Circle and Opeth.

Here’s a cool video of them doing an acoustic rendition of the song “Ideate” off of Cognitive.  This track works great as an acoustic song and has a different feel to it then the album version.  I’ll also post the official video for the song “Savia” again, which if you haven’t seen or heard yet is a great song and a visually appealing clip.  Enjoy!! Peace Love and Metal!!!

P.S. If the “Ideate” Vimeo embedding code is giving me a headache, so you can click on the link below to check out the video, sorry 😉

If I find more bands with this style outside of Tool/A Perfect Circle and these guys I will do. I love this style of metal also 😉
Have you checked out Soen’s debut album out yet. It’s really damn good.

  2. Thanks to you I have the album, and can’t stop listening! Found it through your blog, I’ll be forever greatful 😉
I love the drums and the singer sure is something special. A friend said “it’s like A perfect circle unleashed”.
“Oscilliation” and “Slithering” are my favourites right now.
