UK Download Festival Update

UK’s Download Festival made another announcement today (1 Feb 2012); another 14 bands added to the lineup. We now have the major players lined up…headliners for both main and second stages plus supporting bands for the headliners. In other words, the bands with more time to play have a spot. This could be make or break for most people, including me.

Here is a short list of the bands announced today: Megadeth, Black Label Society, Five Finger Death Punch, Kyuss Lives, Steel Panther, As I Lay Dying, Rise Against, Fear Factory, Billy Talent, Terrorvision, Periphery, Ginger Wildheart, Slash, and Reckless Love.

Though not the most impressive lineup additions, it is great to see Megadeth and Black Label Society added to the list. I think the best part of all is the set for Sunday (see poster). That’s one heavy day featuring Black Sabbath headlining with Soundgarden, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Black Label Society, Kyuss Lives, Five Finger Death Punch, and DevilDriver. That’s just the main stage! That pretty much seals the deal for me; I can’t imagine any other band being added to the list on another day that would change my mind, especially since the good real estate is spoken for.

  1. Sunday is definitely the best day IMO. It should be cool to see Soundgarden playing again, I hope there is a tour after their festival run, I’d like to see them. Megadeth is always a good time as well as Lamb of God and Devildriver.
    Have a great time dude!!
