The Closest We’re Getting to Any New Tool Anytime Soon

While Tool fans wait in eager anticipation for any news of a new album on the horizon, Maynard James Keenan has been keeping himself busy making wine and recording a new record with his side project band Puscifer.  It’s not exactly metal, but I think it’s pretty cool music.  Here’s a hilarious video of them performing the title track off their new record, Conditions of My Parole, on The Late Show with David Letterman.  On a side note, that album art is pretty hilarious also.  Enjoy!!  Peace Love and Metal!!!

  1. I’ve got ‘”V” Is For Vagina’ and it’s not bad and whilst I’m more excited by the prospect of some more Tool (fnarr fnarr) you’ve got to hand it to Keenan for being a proper artist and following his muse: a smart guy and a one-off.

    • I saw Keenan interviewed by this chick (can’t remember her name) from a show called Uranium. She was doing the interview, but was ordered to wear a costume (of sorts) and not refer to Keenan as Keenan. He was assuming another “personality” for the evening. And they went to a strip club for the interview. It was quite interesting and I would love to see what it would be like to be in a room with him for 10 minutes. I bet it would be quite eventful.

  2. I want to like Puscifer, I really do, but something just keeps me from not getting it. And I count Mr. Bungle as one of my favorite bands of all time!

    • I’m 50/50 on Puscifer. Some of their stuff, like the song posted above, I really dig. And then they have some music that I just find mind-numbingly boring. I wonder what’s keeping Tool from starting to work on any new material. They may have long release breaks, but this one has been the longest.
      And hell yeah!! BUUUUNNNGLEEEEE!!!
