Song of the Day, 8 March 2011 – Semblance of Liberty

Hello Everyone,

Today’s SOTD is a good one.  I recently picked up this album, and I really like it.  This band really incorporates a lot of elements into their music, and it makes them a really great band.

Today’s SOTD is “Semblance of Liberty” by Epica, from the album Design Your Universe

I got into these guys by listening to the Divine Conspiracy album, and this one is even better.  I like the mix of clean female vocals and growls.  This album has a lot more guitar-driven songs, but there is still a good mix of symphonic elements throughout the album.  They have a new album coming out in 2012, and I really think it sucks that I have to wait a year to hear it.  Epica are a great power symphonic band, and they are definitely underrated.

Have a listen, and let me know what you think (If you can spare a few minutes).

Up the irons.

  1. Good song!! I agree, the contrasting vocals work well together and there’s some bad ass riffing going on. The symphonic elements make Epica’s songs sound well, epic.
